Researchers

Across the Tamar was written and
performed by David Carless and Kitrina Douglas.

We began working together in 2001 during our PhD’s at the University of Bristol, at the time neither of us had contemplated using creative or artistic methods to represent research. After reading Andrew Sparkes’ “Telling tales in sport and physical activity” we both became more aware and interested in what is lost from our research when we only present via traditional methods.

Since this time we have continued to use a variety of creative methods to explore our research. , to attempt  understand our selves and to become more aware of our influence on the research process. We feel doing so allows us to gain insights and understandings regarding human experience as well as providing an alternative way to communicate these understandings.
